I'm Jacob. I'm an associate art director, designer, and visual artist currently based in Brooklyn, New York. When I'm not designing, I love drawing, learning about science, oil painting, skateboarding, gaming, and having dumb conversations with smart friends.
My love for art and design began when I was in kindergarten and continues to be the main thread that weaves the fabric of this big old sweater I call life. My biggest sources of inspiration are the the vibrant city I live in, people around me, people I admire, and music.
I studied both marketing and graphic design at the University of Minnesota where I graduated with a BBA in Marketing and Graphic Design. Since then, I've been at The Engine Is Red – crankin' out designs, making the logo 20% larger, and trying my hardest every day to make it pop!
I've helped execute print & digital projects for a variety of clients, large and small.
The digital Wild West – a land in which I aspire to be a good little cowboy. I use Figma and a sprinkle of front end dev knowledge to design web experiences for clients.
I love branding because it requires imagining a better future - not only fulfulling the immediate needs of a client, but also looking forward into the future to what they aspire to be.
I love illustrating people, places, and things. But out of all the nouns, people are my favorite nouns to illustrate both in my personal time and professionally.
